Guys and Dolls Auditions

Anyone wanting to join the society and take part should follow the join us link below. If you are interested in joining and auditioning for a principal part then please contact secretary@thelaos.com before 10th May 2012 and the material for the principal role will be posted out to you. Auditions will take place on Sunday 13th May 2012, 10.00am – 7.00pm. Possible recalls will take place on Sunday 20th May 2012, 10.00am – 4.00pm. Your audition will then also count as a new member audition. There will be seperate new member auditions for the chorus soon to join the society and anyone who has completed a join us application will be contacted.

2012 Show announced

LAOS will perform 'Chess' a collaboration between Abba's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and Tim Rice. With songs including the ever popular 'I know him so well', Chess will be staged at Leeds Grand Theatre from March 13th to 17th 2012. Tickets are now on sale for our next production, South Pacific. It will be performed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on 26 March – 2 April 2011 and promises to be another spectacular production.

This powerful love story is set on the tropical island of Espiritu Santo in the South Pacific and is one of the most memorable and emotional classics ever written by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Songs include ‘There is Nothin’ Like a Dame’, ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ and ‘Bali Ha’i’.

Rehearsals are going well!

Rehearsals for Beauty and the Beast are deep into Act 2 now and are progressing really well. With a fantastic ‘Be our Guest’ routine including all the enchanted objects and some amazing costumes it really shouldn’t be missed.

Filled with fun and fantasy, this multi-award winning musical boasts an enchanting score, including the well known title song ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and the magnificent ‘Be Our Guest’.

Make sure you don’t miss out on the opportunity to bring your princes and princesses and get carried away in the wonderful world of Disney! And if you bring your children in fancy dress on Tuesday or Wednesday night, they will have the opportunity to meet the main characters after the show.

Beauty and the Beast will be performed at Leeds Grand Theatre on 16 – 20 November 2010.
